A lot of DRL tees are printed on the Bella+Canvas 3001, a lightweight jersey tee with a modern, retail fit. This guide covers what it is made of, why it works for our artwork, and how it differs from our heavyweight tees.
How DRL tees are made (and what we do not claim)
DEPARTMENT OF REAL LIFE (DRL) designs the artwork. Our print partner Printful prints each order on demand on blank garments and ships it to you. We are not owned by, sponsored by or affiliated with Bella+Canvas. The name is their trademark, and we mention it only so you know what your tee is made on.
What the Bella+Canvas 3001 is made of
- Solid colors: 100% combed and ring-spun cotton
- Heather colors: about 52% cotton and 48% polyester, with Athletic Heather at 90% cotton and 10% polyester
- Fabric weight of 4.2 oz/yd², a light tee that layers easily
- Retail fit with unisex sizing
- Side-seamed construction and shoulder-to-shoulder taping
- Tear-away label, so there is no scratchy tag
See the brand's own details on the Bella+Canvas website.
How the fabric helps our designs
A smooth, fine-knit surface. The tighter, finer jersey suits detailed artwork and small text, which many of our designs use.
A soft feel. The print stays flexible and comfortable instead of feeling stiff on the chest.
A fit that works for more people. The retail fit is trimmer than our heavyweight tees, and the side seams help it hold its shape.
Know before you buy. It is a light fabric, so in pale colors it can look slightly sheer in some lighting. If you prefer a thicker tee, try our heavyweight styles.
Care tips
- Machine wash inside out with similar colors
- Avoid chlorine bleach
- Tumble dry on low
- If you iron, never iron directly on the print
